Radio and Base Station Procurement

Background:

AppalCART is seeking to purchase digital communication equipment (e.g. radios, base station, repeater, etc.) for our fleet of vehicles and facility.  This equipment transitions our communications system from using an analog signal to a digital signal.  

Project Overview:

AppalCART will receive Informal Bids to establish a contract with a vendor to provide and install a complete communication system, including a repeater, base station and 25 (25) mobile radios for AppalCART vehicles. AppalCART provides transportation services to residents of Watauga County by using buses, lift vans and LTV transit vehicles.

Informal Bids are due by 5:00 p.m. on April 16, 2025 at AppalCART Facility located 305 NC Hwy 105 Bypass.  Bid packages may be emailed to AppalCART at cransom@appalcart.com . Awards are expected to occur within thirty (30) days after the informal bids are opened.

No one who has been disbarred from contracting with the state or federal government should submit an offer.

AppalCART or their Governing Board reserve the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, to waive minor technicalities and informalities and to make an award deemed in its own best interest.
